You’ll enjoy beautiful views of Dal Lake, which is a peaceful way to start your trip. However it could be costly for you, you can also look for 4 star hotels in Srinagar for more affordable option.

Things to Do in Srinagar – 

  1. Shikara Ride on Dal Lake: You should definitely take a Shikara ride on Dal Lake. It costs about Rs 700 – 800 per hour depending up-on your negotiation skills and it is a calm and scenic way to see the area.
  2. Nishat Garden: This Mughal garden is a lovely place to walk around and enjoy the views. If you don’t have much time, you can skip Shalimar Garden because one garden is enough.
  3. Shopping at Local Market: Check out the local markets for souvenirs, spices, and Kashmiri handicrafts.
  4. Shankaracharya Temple: If you like history and architecture, visit this temple for amazing views of the city.

  1. Gondola Ride: This is one of the best things to do in Gulmarg. The ride has two parts, you might not see much snow on the first time in some months, each lasting about 15 minutes. The lines can be long for the second part, the second phase closed down when the snow falls heavily so plan accordingly but you can buy Gondola ride tickets online. You can see snow on the second part in summer and on the first part in winter.
  2. Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve: This place is perfect if you love nature. There are many plants and animals to see. You’ll need to walk a lot, so wear comfortable shoes.
  3. Snow Rides: If you like playing in the snow, you can try snow rides. They cost around Rs 1,500-2,000 per person.

Tip: If you don’t have many days, you might skip Gulmarg because it needs more time due to the activities and long lines.
